UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School is Hiring a Finance Manager Near Chapel Hill, NC

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Finance Manager will support day-to-day performance of the financial and accounting activities of the Executive Development business unit, including bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payables, reconciliations, budget tracking, and reporting for internal management purposes. This role will report to the Director of Finance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, verify, and report business accounting information
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting activities including:

- Accounts Receivable, invoicing & collections
- Accounts Payable, booking transactions & supervising bill pay
- Maintaining standard costs inputs lists
- Allocating costs and revenues
- Tracking program budgets
- Posting transactions and maintaining the accounting system

  • Book payroll transactions and coordinate with HR function
  • Coordinate A/R and A/P activities with Operations function
  • Supervise bill pay processes across multiple payment systems
  • Maintain records to document transactions
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts in accounting system
  • Prepare Journal Entries as required
  • Report accrual and cash financial results per line of business
  • Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration (preferred), 1-3 years of professional experience in finance or accounting, and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong general proficiency in Intuit, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office suite, including Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This individual will be goal-oriented and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. The successful candidate will be a well-organized, highly collaborative team member

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

  • $62,000-$70,000

The Finance Manager is a full-time, hybrid position. Candidates must be based in North Carolina within commuting distance to our Chapel Hill office.

The Finance Manager is an employee of the Kenan-Flagler Business School Executive Education, LLC, an affiliated organization of UNC-Chapel Hill. This position is not a University or State of North Carolina position.
